Welcome to American Literature! During this class, we will spend our time looking at the span of American literature, starting with the Colonial Period and ending with modern texts.  Literature is a reflection of life and this course will examine the effects politics, society, and events have had on writers.  I hope you will see yourselves as sources of knowledge, and will be willing to share your ideas, opinions and questions with the class.  Everyone gains when everyone participates.
